Brad Gilchrist
Brad is a highly skilled mentoring professional with a wealth of experience in Education and Sport. Brad’s passionate about working with young people and nurturing them to help reach their full potential. Beginning as a sports coach, he later transitioned into Education after graduating with a degree in Sports Development and Business. He has worked within Alternative Education for over 9 years, which has provided him with invaluable experience in building strong and meaningful relationships with young people, educators and parents. Outside of work, Brad loves playing football and is a big Manchester City fan and season ticket holder. He loves spending time with his family and his dog, Leo!



Director
David Jackson
David is a very knowledgeable and qualified teacher with over 15 years of experience. He began working with young people in his teens as a youth worker and sports coach and has thrived doing so ever since. He strongly believes that building rapport with children is the key to engagement and the catalyst for achievement. David is also involved in helping with early careers teachers within the early years framework. Away from work, David is also a Manchester City fan. He loves all things sport, and has played football for most of his life. He also loves spending time with his family, especially his daughter Frankie!



Director
Connor Hall
Connor has years of experience working within Alternative Provision and plays a key role at Esteem Educators. Connor has been involved in all aspects of mentoring and works directly with our young people to support their individual journeys. Alongside this, Connor is an experienced business professional and entrepreneur, having managed several businesses across Greater Manchester. He played a key role in organising the Oldham Education Festival on behalf of Oldham Council for multiple years. In 2019, he was awarded 'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' at the Oldham Business Awards and later went on to organise and promote TEDx Oldham. In his spare time, you’ll find Connor at his local Jiu Jitsu gym, playing football, or competing at his local pub quiz!



Operations Manager
Brandon Gilchrist
Brandon is vastly experienced within Alternative Education from both hands on 1-2-1 mentoring with young people, to the day to day management of business. He has worked as a mentor and Head of Centre for over 7 years, before moving into Operations Manager at Esteem.
He wants to continue to expand his knowledge in the field, and help as many young people as possible. Outside of work, he loves taking his dog on long walks, watching football, and he definitely shows everyone up in the office when it comes to solving a Rubik's Cube!



Head of Student Engagement & Mentor Support
Lianna Andrews
Lianna brings a wealth of experience across the educational spectrum, all the way from early years to higher education. She leads the Student Engagement team at Esteem Educators, working closely with mentors to ensure they receive the correct support for their students. She plays a key role in monitoring progress and ensuring students’ individual needs are met through tailored support. She holds a first-class honours degree in Early Years and Education and is deeply passionate about working with young people. With a love for language and literature, Lianna has taught English as an additional language to international students and she also speaks Italian fluently as she lived in Milan for 3 years!



Student Engagement & Mentor Support Coordinator
Sophie Blinston
Sophie graduated in 2024 with a BSc in Psychology and completed a placement year in community engagement within the criminal justice team. Her work has always centred on building strong connections and making a difference -whether supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mentoring first-year university students through the 'Manchester Mates' scheme, or helping to guide and support mentors in her current role in Student Engagement at Esteem where she regularly meets with students and mentors to keep track of progress and provide advice and encouragement where needed.
Outside of work, she loves reading, baking, crocheting, and taking on a tricky Escape Room challenge!



Student Engagement & Mentor Support Coordinator
Ella Bergin-Williams
Before joining the team, Ella worked in a primary school for five years as both a Teaching Assistant and a PE Coach. During this time, she worked closely with SEND and SEMH children and helped to create supportive learning environments where every child could thrive. As a key member of the Student Engagement team, Ella works closely with educational authorities and families to ensure students are progressing where they need, helping to keep them on track with their learning and personal development. She is deeply passionate about working with children and helping them overcome their individual challenges, fostering growth and success in every student she works with. Ella is also a Level 2 swimming teacher with over 10 years of experience and has competed nationally!



Digital & Business Coordinator
Roisin Rafferty
Roisin has a wealth of experience in areas such as Business Operations and Digital Marketing. She ensures smooth communications between the team and businesses across Manchester for student opportunities. She also handles the day-to-day business aspects of Esteem and looks after everything digital. Roisin has been involved in multiple business start-ups from tech businesses to new restaurant openings. She led a Graduate & Apprenticeship Program for young people aged 16-21 which introduced young persons to the world of coding and developing. She also travelled to France to teach primary school children English, and further her French studies. When she's not in the office you can probably find her in the ring at her Muay Thai boxing gym!



Finance and Administration Coordinator
Paige Benton
With a degree in Early Childhood Studies from Liverpool John Moores University, Paige brings a wealth of experience to the team. She has a strong background in Alternative Provision and previously worked as a Support Mentor and a Teaching Assistant in a primary school where she focused on 1-2-1 support for students with special education needs. In addition to her educational roles, Paige has held several financial positions within the finance industry, further enhancing her expertise in finance and administration. Outside of work, Paige enjoys spending quality time with her daughter and long weekend walks with her dog!



Education and Operations Administrator
Rebecca Squire
​Rebecca brings a wealth of experience working in education, particularly supporting children with additional needs. She has worked in both mainstream and SEND school settings, providing 1-2-1 support for children as well as taking on key organisational and administrative responsibilities. She has also played an important role in developing and running early years provision within a school. Rebecca has completed a wide range of training including Safeguarding, Child Protection, First Aid (emergency and paediatric), and Prevent Awareness courses. She enjoys applying her skills to ensure things run smoothly and she values working as part of a team to help students achieve the best possible outcomes. But her organisation doesn’t stop at work - she loves labelling and organising at home as well as anything creative. She is family-oriented and a self-confessed coffee addict!



Esteem Eats Chef & Life Skills Mentor
Angela Ashcroft
Angela holds a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care, which includes training on supporting children who have experienced trauma. With over 30 years of experience in hospitality, she has worked as a cook and managed various establishments, including roles as a high school kitchen manager and recently running a café for a pupil referral unit. She also holds qualifications in Food Safety and Hygiene, and Food Allergy and Intolerance Training. With this mix of experience in both childcare and cooking, Angela is perfectly placed to help children develop practical life skills while also bringing extensive culinary expertise to the classroom. Angela is passionate about helping students develop practical cooking skills that will prepare them for the future and build life-long positive habits with food and cooking. Outside of work, Angela enjoys cold-water swimming, walking her dog Thea, and spending time with family!
