KS2 Programme

Interest Led 1-2-1 Mentoring Programme for Young People

Our KS2 Programme

Our KS2 programme is a unique mentoring programme for primary school pupils (KS2) ages 7-11, designed to help them grow strong roots in social and emotional intelligence, and provide them with the skills they need to aspire towards their desired future.

These pupils may have experienced difficulties in traditional learning environments, such as struggling with academic progress, disengagement, low self-esteem, or other social and emotional challenges. We will work closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to identify pupils who would benefit from our programme.

We offer a tailor-made programme that will cater to the unique needs of each individual pupil. Our highly skilled and experienced mentors will work closely with the pupils and their families to create an interest-led programme designed around the child, that focuses on building self-esteem, confidence, positive relationships, and developing social and ethical intelligence.

How It Works

An Intervention, not a Destination

Our programme is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. We believe that every young person has a unique set of circumstances, and our aim is to work with them on a 1-2-1 basis to create a bespoke plan that is tailored to their specific requirements.

Our experienced personnel will work closely with the individual, their family and other key contacts to develop an approach that will help them to thrive and reach their full potential.

Unlike traditional schools, we do not have a base where we take pupils. Instead, we leverage the benefits of being off-site to create an environment that is conducive to learning. We aim to make our curriculum engaging and dynamic by using an interest-led approach so that pupils are motivated to participate and learn.

Pupils are with us for three hours, during which time they will receive 1-2-1 support and guidance. We offer a flexible pickup and drop-off service, with some pupils being picked up from home and dropped off back at home or school, while others are picked up from school and dropped off at home. This may vary learner to learner.

We pride ourselves on the high-quality service that we offer. Our experienced mentors are passionate about supporting young people, and we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where they can prosper.

Our primary objective is to support young learners in their journey of growth and development. While we understand that mainstream education may not be suitable for everyone, we strive to reintroduce them to the conventional system at a pace that is appropriate for their unique circumstances. Our aim is to provide an intervention that is not a final destination, but a stepping stone towards future success.

Why It Works

Throughout the day, young people will participate in a range of enrichment activities that are designed to be engaging, dynamic and fun. Some examples include:

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Sports and Physical Activities

  • Outdoor Activities

  • Music and Dance

  • Drama and Performance

  • Coding and Robotics

  • Culinary Skills

These activities will be based on the interests and aspirations of the pupils and tailored to them, helping to build motivation and a love for learning. The programme will also focus on developing key skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making, which will be essential for success in both academic and personal life.

In addition to the enrichment activities, pupils will receive 1-2-1 support and guidance from their mentor, who will help them to identify their strengths and develop personal goals. This will ensure that they are inspired to work towards their desired future and prepare them for the next stage of their journey.

At Esteem Educators, we understand that the transition from primary to high school can be a challenging time for pupils. That's why we will focus heavily on building social and emotional skills, which will not only help pupils to succeed in their academic studies but will also equip them with the tools they need to tackle the challenges that come with this transition. We will work closely with mainstream schools to ensure a smooth transition for our pupils, helping them to successfully reintegrate into the conventional system at a pace that is appropriate for their unique circumstances.

Overall, our KS2 programme will provide primary school pupils with a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where they can prosper. Our aim is to help them grow strong roots in social and emotional intelligence, and provide them with the tools they need for their next steps.

Creating an optimal setting for success is crucial in providing conducive conditions for individual development.

Our approach emphasises the importance of providing an environment where young people can thrive and grow. Rather than placing them in restrictive settings, such as schools or isolation, we believe in tailoring the curriculum to their needs and inspiring them on their journey.

Our goal is to energise their aspirations through an inspiring and engaging offer. To ensure success, we assign an experienced mentor who has been carefully selected to meet the child's unique needs.
